WHAT IS
EARLY HEAD START?

The Early Head Start program serves low-income pregnant women, and families with children, from birth to age three, in a home-based setting. This highly supportive, no-cost program provides continuous and comprehensive child development services. Early Head Start Home Visits and Group Socialization work to strengthen the relationships between infants, toddlers and their parents. These visits are designed to support the parents as the primary caregivers of the child, and to facilitate optimal growth during this period of rapid social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. Parents are encouraged and supported to later recreate and build upon the activities that are introduced during the home visits. The earlier your child begins the program, the earlier they will truly have a head start in their life-long learning.
QUALITY
CHILD CARE
High-quality preschool programs are the
key for children to develop
better emotional, intellectual and social skills that benefit them
throughout their school years and for the rest of their lives.
We recognize that parents are the first and most important teachers of
children, and we believe that early support systems and education are
fundamental to lifelong success.
